Setup guide ​

This guide walks you through installing, setting up, and logging in to the beem app. For more detailed information on individual topics and features, refer to their dedicated pages.

Setting up the beem app ​

1. Download the app ​

Find and download the right app version for your device on the beem app download page.

You can find more details about system requirements and supported operating systems on the system requirements page.

2. Install the app ​

To install the app, follow the directions for your device on the device onboarding page.

If your device is enrolled into beem Device Management, the installation will proceed automatically.


WARNING

Keep the app up to date to maintain access to beemNet. For security reasons, devices running outdated versions have seven days to update before their access is suspended.

3. Log in to the app ​

Your authentication method depends on which beem Security Edition is active.

  • Essential Edition: Log in by using your mobile phone number linked to beem. This requires a device capable of receiving SMS messages. (All major Swiss mobile providers are supported.) To log in, select Phone number on the home screen.

  • Standard, Plus, and Premium Edition: Log in by using your beem username (e.g. firstname.surname@company.beem.swiss). This requires a device set up for passkey authentication. To log in, select Username on the home screen and start passkey authentication.

Once logged in, your device will automatically establish an encrypted connection to beemNet. As a safety feature, the beem app will periodically ask you to re-authenticate while you are logged in.

Standard, Plus, and Premium Edition users who do not have their username at hand can choose to log in by phone number. This sends them an SMS containing their username and guides them through the login process.


TIP

To check which username or phone number you are logged in with, open the settings menu ☰. At the top of the screen, you will see the current login credentials.
